Call of Duty 2020 is a pretty badly-kept secret, and one that has already been the victim of an incredible amount of leaks.

Early looks at the game's artwork, as well as an insight into its weapons and perks and even its final name, have all leaked online – and we've also seen gameplay clips from the title surface on the internet, too.

In July, we also saw the official Microsoft Store publish a listing for a game codenamed 'The Red Door' which has CoD publisher Activision pegged as the publisher.

  • Activision yesterday announced that its next Call of Duty game, called Warzone, is launching today. At around 8 AM PST, owners of Modern Warfare will be able to experience the Warzone couple of hours before everyone, while the rest of the players will have to wait until noon PST to play.
  • The expected reveal of Activision‘s next Call of Duty game has been dated. Fans of the wartime first-person shooter phenomenon will want to tune into TNT‘s NBA Playoffs broadcast on May 1st.

It's not the first time we've seen this codename, either: as TwistedVoxel writes, this same codename was discovered on the PSN database earlier in the year, where it was unpackaged and found to be an Alpha for Call of Duty 2020.

Now, even better, we've now seen the publisher actually acknowledge the game in its latest earning's call.

Chief financial officer Dennis Durkin noted during the call that the next Call of Duty release will see development shared by Treyarch and Raven Software. Sledgehammer Games are not mentioned.

Also, TGR said that the Zombies mode in Call of Duty 2020 will feature a mix of new maps and remasters of old maps, which fits the trend of the last few games in the franchise, which also featured a mixture of old and new maps. As of right now, it's unclear when Treyarch and Activision will reveal the next Call of Duty game.
